Carver hosts first AVID showcase
On September 29, Carver Middle School held its first AVID showcase. We invited superintendents, district leadership teams, school board members and principals to see how Carver Middle School is impacting all students by incorporating AVID into their action plants to ensure student success and articulating AVID approaches to improve support structures, communication, teacher development and student success.
After a presentation by Dr. Pruitt, visitors toured our building and met with student leaders to learn about how the program has impacted their lives.
AVID trains educators to use proven practices in order to prepare students for success in high school, college, and a career, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education. Carver adopted the AVID program in 2014 and last year was named an AVID national demonstration school.
