All Girls Auto Know

Last week, Ms. Barrett and female students from Carver Middle School attended “All Girls Auto Know” at BMW Manufacturing. The purpose of the event was to promote girls’ involvement in STEM programs through presentations and displays relating to careers in the automotive industry. College representatives, as well as women in the automotive profession, were on hand at the event to answer questions and socialize with our students.
In addition, our students were taken on a tour of the BMW Plant and given the opportunity to observe several jobs within the plant and see the actual process behind the production of BMW’s vehicles. The girls were also give the opportunity to work hands-on during the event to gain real-world experience to understand the production process.
Our students had a wonderful time and look forward to participating again next year. To see highlights from the day, please view the slideshow below this article.
