7th grader named Carver spelling bee champ
7th grader Kameryn Geter-Whiteside emerged as Carver’s Spelling Bee champion Jan. 10. The runner up is 8th grader, Katheryn Hernandez Gomez, who was last year’s winner. On Jan. 9, Geter-Whiteside and Hernandez Gomez engaged in an intense debate, with a back and forth volley that lasted so long it had to be continued into the next day. The final match was held Jan. 10, with Geter-Whiteside emerging as the winner. She will represent Carver in the district spelling bee.
